Thomas Norton is an associate at the firm. His practice areas include bankruptcy and reorganization, business law and litigation, construction law, and intellectual property, with an emphasis on trademark and copyright registration, maintenance, and defense. Prior to joining the firm, Thomas briefly clerked with Judges Kathy Palmer and Bobby Reeves in the Middle Judicial Circuit of Georgia. Professionally, he is a member of State Bar of Georgia’s Bankruptcy and Intellectual Property Sections, the American Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the W. Homer Drake, Jr. Georgia Bankruptcy American Inn of Court, and the Macon Bar Association.

After graduating from David Emanuel Academy in Stillmore, Georgia, Thomas attended Mercer University here in Macon. He graduated in 2016, summa cum laude, with a B.S. in Chemistry and a minor in Law & Public Policy. While at Mercer, Thomas served as the Associate Chief Justice of the Honor Council and worked closely with the Athletics Department in cultivating and developing the student-led spirit organization, and served as President of the Mercer Maniacs.

During his undergraduate courses, Thomas quickly realized his skills were better suited for the courtroom than the lab. Accordingly, he went on to attend The University of Georgia School of Law, where he graduated from in 2019. During his time at UGA, he served as the Executive Notes Editor for the Journal of Intellectual Property Law and was a member of both the Hearing Panel and Investigation Committee of the Honor Court.

When not working in his office, Thomas spends most of his time enjoying the revitalized downtown scene and can frequently be found at one of the downtown restaurants or breweries.
